Customisable Ogham Necklace, hand carved from hazel with a pyrographed inscription of your choice

Ogham is the written version of old Gaeilge, which modern Irish still bares resemblance to.

The ogham alphabet consists of a series of lines and notches drawn or carved along a centreline. Each letter is represented by one to five, straight or diagonal lines.

Historically used primarily to write names, this practice still continues to this day through art like tattoos and jewellery and has become quite trendy in modern times.

These unique pendants are designed to celebrate deep Celtic roots and our heritage.

Please leave a note at checkout with your requested inscription

Please note some important information regarding the customisation of your piece below:

  • Due to the amount of space required to write in the ogham alphabet, only 1 word is possible per piece.
  • Ogham is loosely based on the Irish language alphabet, and words are first translated to Irish, and then only to Ogham inscription. Hence an Irish translation of your chosen word will be used where possible.
  • Please note a direct translation of English to ogham will not be possible if your chosen word/name word contains any of the letters j, k, q, v, w, x, y, or z.
  • In the case of a name or word containing these letters, either a direct Irish translation, or the closest phonetical replacement will be chosen (i.e. John becomes Seán)
  • Please note these designs are made to order and will require additional time to craft prior to being posted (Approx 5 days. potentially longer prior to busy times such as Christmas)

If you have any questions regarding your order or would like us to double check the accuracy or usability of a spelling, or for a more precise estimate on when your personalised piece will be ready (if a gift must arrive on time for a birthday, special date etc.) prior to order, please email us to bulfinarts@gmail.com
